What

The New Urbanism Initiative, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is a youth-led organization advocating for more livable and equitable cities. Through policy research, political advocacy, and sparking civic engagement, NUI fights for effective public transit, walkable, bikeable streets, affordable housing, and reduced car dependence.

Why

NUI is built on the broader belief that car-dependent American cities must become more livable and equitable, giving youth, seniors, low-income residents, and people with disabilities better access to opportunity while making cities safer, healthier, more beautiful, and more environmentally-friendly.
